Franschhoek Cellar Baker Station Shiraz

Bon Courage's Inkara Shiraz has a complex amalgam of red berried fruit, with soft tones of chocolate. This Shiraz has a round and full mouth-feel.

A bright clear medium ruby colour. The nose, starting with violets, evolves into blackberry and bramble. The palate is vibrant with a touch of complex spices, like freshly crushed black pepper and liquorice.

Introduced in 2015, Penfolds Max’s Shiraz is a tribute to former Chief Winemaker Max Schubert who served in the role from 1948-1975, a legend in Penfolds history. Max’s constant pursuit of excellence paved the way for those who followed in his footsteps and allowed the status and heritage of Penfolds to grow. A contemporary offering of South Australian shiraz, this release provides a fruit-driven wine which is generous in flavour and persistent across the palate.

A refreshing Syrah from the Cape shows rosemary and lavender perfume over crushed black pepper and bright plum fruit. Elegant and soft textured yet intense and rewarding. The wine is medium-bodied and lingers to a tapering finish. In an age where Syrah is known for making big, polished and powerful, often sweet-fruited wines, Radford Dale have chosen the path less travelled by showing a restrained and subtle expression of one of the Cape’s most exciting varieties.
