Avondale Cyclus

Cartology is a vinous exploration of Cape heritage. It’s intended to be a picture of the Cape seen through the lens of her old vineyards in a given vintage. The cuveé is composed of rare and extraordinary parcels of mature dryland bushvines, of heritage grapes, namely Chenin Blanc and Semilllon. These grapes have been planted in the Cape for centuries. Cartology has become our staple offering. It serves as a poster child for our project, and also seems to have become a flag bearer for Cape heritage wine in general.

The Reserve white, our distinguished blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon epitomises the heart and soil of our Morgenster Estate. This elegant wine is a result of the meticulous craft of our inspired winemaker and the perpetual pursuit of excellence.

This 2022 wine is an expressive wine with an excellent balance between sweetness and acidity. The nose starts with some flint and khakibos, and opens up to present you with fresh tangerine, passionfruit, melon and gooseberry flavours that follow through on a creamy palate.  The White Blend presents a bold combination of fruit and freshness that gives the wine excellent length and elegance.
