Alheit Cartology
Cartology is a vinous exploration of Cape heritage. It’s intended to be a picture of the Cape seen through the lens of her old vineyards in a given vintage. The cuveé is composed of rare and extraordinary parcels of mature dryland bushvines, of heritage grapes, namely Chenin Blanc and Semilllon. These grapes have been planted in the Cape for centuries. Cartology has become our staple offering. It serves as a poster child for our project, and also seems to have become a flag bearer for Cape heritage wine in general.

This white Bordeaux-style blend immediately draws the eye with its clear, brilliant, light yellow colour still tinged with green. The wine leads with inviting aromas of pear drops, mango, fennel and ripe figs with a subtle touch of waxy lanolin imparted by the inclusion of Semillon. Luxurious sun-ripened Golden Delicious apples and quince intertwine with an oyster shell mineral core, generous creaminess and harmonious acidity. A satisfying wine, displaying textured layers of fruit which linger indulgently. Whilst this wine drinks extremely well now, it will show even greater complexity with further maturation.

This 2022 wine is an expressive wine with an excellent balance between sweetness and acidity. The nose starts with some flint and khakibos, and opens up to present you with fresh tangerine, passionfruit, melon and gooseberry flavours that follow through on a creamy palate. The White Blend presents a bold combination of fruit and freshness that gives the wine excellent length and elegance.
Rall White
"Now established among the Cape's leading white blends, this is a pairing of Chenin Blanc, 26% Verdelho and 3% Viognier from the Swartland and Stellenbosch. Floral, pithy and effortlessly complex, it's tauter and tighter than it has been of late, with notes of thatch, wet stones, citrus and apricot, negligible oak and a mineral core."
Savage White
The aromatics are rich and expressive with multiple layers of grapefruit preserve, peach tea, green apple pastille and delicate hints of chamomile, honey and pineapple. In the mouth the wine rolls across the palate with an impressively dense glycerol weight of fruit together with the most delicious tangy mouth-watering acids.
