Above average winter rainfall in Eden Valley provided good soil moisture profiles leading into spring. Drier conditions prevailed from September through to April which was significantly lower than the long term average. Spring provided ideal conditions for flowering and fruit set, while the growing season experienced some warm spells, with twelve summer days recorded above 35 C Healthy canopies shielded the grapes from adversity, and with careful use of supplementary irrigation the grapes were able to ripen evenly across blocks The 2018 vintage quality was exceptional, with lovely varietal flavour and refreshing natural acidity Appellation:Â Eden Valley Varieties:Â 92% Riesling, 8% Traminer Vintage:Â 2018 ALC:Â 12.5 |Â pH:Â 2.93 |Â TA:Â 6.9 g/l

Penfolds Max’s Chardonnay is a tribute to former Chief Winemaker Max Schubert 1948-1975, a legend in Penfolds history. Max’s constant pursuit of excellence paved the way for those who followed in his footsteps and also allowed the status and heritage of Penfolds to grow. Max’s Chardonnay continues the evolution of the Penfolds white wine program, drawing inspiration from the legacy and spirit of the many wine trials of Max Schubert, a Penfolds winemaking legend.
Quion Rock Chardonnay
Straw colour with hint of green – youthful and vibrant. Attractive nose showing ripe citrus and orange peel leading to hints of vanilla spice oak and toasted brioche. Citrus peel on palate with good weight and lightly buttery texture. The wine is well balanced with fresh acid and minerality persistent lemon/lime on the finish.
Quion Rock White Blend
This 2022 wine is an expressive wine with an excellent balance between sweetness and acidity. The nose starts with some flint and khakibos, and opens up to present you with fresh tangerine, passionfruit, melon and gooseberry flavours that follow through on a creamy palate. The White Blend presents a bold combination of fruit and freshness that gives the wine excellent length and elegance.

Including grapes from Swartland property Kloovenburg on schist as well as 15% undergoing skin contact to achieve more texture and interest. A hint of flinty reduction before peach, apricot and pineapple. Rich and concentrated on the palate with tangy acidity and a savoury finish. Great depth of flavour. Alc: 12.5%

Floral, pithy and effortlessly complex, it's tauter and tighter than it has been of late, with notes of thatch, wet stones, citrus and apricot, negligible oak and a mineral core."
