David & Nadia Grenache Noir
R450,00
Grapes from four vineyards located across the Swartland, differing amounts of whole-bunch fermentation used for the various parcels but on average 50%. The nose is shy with traces of cranberry, rose and dried herbs. Medium bodied with fresh acidity and fine tannins.
‘”The 2022 vintage humbled us,” says David Sadie, but brilliant winemakers shine in adversity. This scented, refined, very lightly wooded Grenache has lots of granite-derived freshness and minerality, red cherry, raspberry and pomegranate flavours and succulent, textured tannins. 2023-30’ – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2023, 94/100
‘Beginning with a floral and red-fruited nose, the 2022 Grenache Noir offers notes of raspberry and dusty plum with a delightful floral lift from whole cluster. Medium-bodied, the palate is succulent and fresh, offering a lingering tannic edge before a soft herbal flavor creeps into the long, red-fruited finish. There’s a touch of reduction on the aftertaste. Enjoy with food. 2023-2034’ – Anthony Mueller, Wine Advocate, 93+/100
